What and Where is Professor Sycamore’s Treasure in Pokemon X and Y?
Professor Sycamore’s treasure gained divided thoughts and interpretations amongst players. The professor didn’t mention anything about it except that it is hidden in Couriway Town.
Here are the two most logical answers:
The first and most accepted answer is a hidden letter. Professor Sycamore’s treasure is a precious letter from his past self hidden in Couriway Town’s station.
However, other players also argue that Professor Sycamore’s treasure in Pokemon X and Y is a Gyaradosite. A mega stone that is only available after beating the Pokemon League and winning a match in the battle area in Kiloude City.
It can also be found southeast of Couriway Town in an area with multiple waterfalls, and you need Professor Sycamore’s help to get it.
Whatever your take is, we will help you find both.
How to Find Professor Sycamore’s Letter

After beating Lysandre, Professor Sycamore will talk to you in Couriway Town and apologize, then he will test your strength with a Pokemon battle.
After beating him, he will tell you that he left a treasure in Couriway.
Go to the station on the east side of town and look at the second bench on its leftmost side. You’ll find that he left a treasured letter long ago for his future self, which says:
“To the person reading this: What are you like now? Did you become who you wanted to be? For starters, what was the person you wanted to become even like? I don’t know, but it would be wonderful if you could boast that you’re living each day to its fullest. To future Sycamore. From the Sycamore dreaming of the future.”
This letter alone makes Professor Sycamore a really good cookie and one of the best Pokemon professors ever.
His outlook in life that he ed on to his future self and the player will always be a cherished treasure.
What Is a Gyaradosite?

A Gyaradosite is Gyarados’s Mega Stone, which allows it to evolve during battles. This transformation significantly powers Gyarados up, boosting its Attack and Special Defense stats significantly.
It also transforms Gyarados from a Water/Flying type to a Water/Dark type. This type change introduces new powerful offensive options.
While the Dark typing adds new weaknesses, it also eliminates Gyarados’s lethal 4x weakness to Electric moves.
Mega Gyarados gains the appearance of a more fearsome serpent-like sea monster. Its looks are as intimidating as its stats.
With access to STAB moves like Waterfall and Crunch, and setup with Dragon Dance, Mega Gyarados can be a destructive force in battles.
Gyarados Base Stats | Mega Gyarados Stats |
---|---|
HP: 95 | HP: 95 |

Defense: 79 | Defense: 109 |

Step 1: Upgrade Your Mega Ring

Step 2: Set your 3DS Clock

Hidden mega stones like the Gyaradosite only appear from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. To skip the wait, set your 3DS clock’s time.
If you are using Citra, perform an in-game save and close Pokemon X and Y. Then go to Emulation> Configure> System> then choose System Clock.
After that, set your device’s time to 8-9 PM before launching Pokemon again.
