It’s no surprise you want such a cool and powerful Pokemon with its own unique transformation on your team.
Getting a Greninja is one thing, but can you get Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Unbound? In this guide, I’ll show you how you can get a Froakie that will become that Pokemon later on.

How to Get Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Unbound?
Yes. You can get Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Unbound. To do that, you need a Greninja with the Battle Bond ability. You can only do this if you have already beaten the Pokemon League.
First, you get a Froakie with the Torrent ability. Then you evolve it to Greninja through leveling up and use an Ability Capsule to change its ability into Battle Bond.
I know it sounds complicated, so here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to get Ash-Greninja in Pokemon Unbound.
Step 1: Talk to The Magnolia Cafe Egg Lady
The first step is the longest, so bear with me. Start by flying to Magnolia Town and heading to Magnolia Cafe. Different NPCs appear in this location depending on the time.
We’re looking for the Egg Lady because she will give us an Egg that could contain Froakie. These are the times and days she appears:

Most of you would find your clock stuck at 10 AM or something. To fix that, you need to go to your emulator’s settings. Go to Options -> Game Boy Advance and turn the real-time clock on.
After that, go to the same options and click Configure. Under the Save Type tab, change the save type to Flash and set it to 128K. Click OK, save your game, and close your emulator.
You can also skip the wait by setting your computer’s clock to the time and day when the Egg Lady appears. After doing so, open Pokemon Unbound again and go to Magnolia Cafe to find her.
When you talk to her for the first time every time she appears, she will give you a free Egg. If you talk to her again on the same day, you can get another Egg, but she will charge you 50,000 Poke Dollars.
You can also repeat the previous steps to get unlimited free Eggs. Just set your clock to another day.
Step 2: Get a Froakie With Torrent
The Egg from the lady can hatch into multiple Pokemon. There’s a 1/15 chance that a Froakie can hatch from it, so you may need to get an Egg from her and hatch them over and over again. In my case, I got a Froakie on my 4th Egg.
Hatching the Egg is pretty easy, as you only need to run. Fast forward your game to speed up the process and bring up to 5 Eggs in your party at the same time to hatch them almost simultaneously.
If you get a Froakie, don’t celebrate just yet. Again, we’re looking for a Froakie with the Torrent ability, as it is the only type that can turn its ability into Battle Bond and transform into Ash-Greninja. If it has Protean, it can’t transform.
If you find a Torrent Froakie, it’s time to level it up and evolve it into Greninja.
Step 3: Change Greninja’s Ability to Battle Bond
Now you have a Torrent Greninja. In order to give it the Ash-Greninja transformation, you need to change its ability to Battle Bond with an Ability Capsule. This item is used to change a Pokemon’s ability.
You can get Ability Capsules or Ability Pills from the Dehara Game Corner. You just need 8000 coins to purchase one. So get your game on and earn those coins.
Once you have an Ability Capsule, use it on your Torrent Greninja to change its ability to Battle Bond.
Now it’s time to head into battle and try out your new ability. Battle Bond allows Greninja to turn into Ash-Greninja after making one Pokemon faint.
