So, you have now conquered the dark and mysterious Crater Town Gym. However, now isn’t the time to celebrate.

The Shadows have captured the two Legendary birds already, and now they have set their sights on Zapdos. You must do everything you can to protect him on Mt. Thunderclap.

Of course, as usual, there’s always something blocking your path. This time you need HM06 Rock Smash to clear it, and according to the Hiker, he knows someone who can give it to you in Blizzard City.

So how do you get to Blizzard City in Pokemon Unbound? In this walkthrough, I’ll guide you to this frozen place and show you the goodies you need to pick up along the way.

How to Get to Blizzard City in Pokemon Unbound

The journey from Crater Town to Blizzard City is one of the longest in the game. So buckle up and get ready for a chilling adventure.

Step 1: Teach a Pokemon With the HM Cut

The only way to get to Blizzard City currently is the cave in the middle of Crater Town. But it’s blocked by a small tree.

To cut it down, you need HM01 or Cut, and luckily the Hiker gives it to us for free. Now find a Pokemon to teach it to.

In Pokemon Unbound, you don’t need to teach a Pokemon an HM. If a Pokemon can learn it, then it can automatically use the HM without actually learning the move.

Plus, Cut is not a great battling move, and you won’t be able to unlearn it or replace it with a more useful move using normal means.

So catch an HM slave like the godlike Bidoof, abundant on Route 3.

Step 2: Head to Valley Cave

After cutting the small tree, enter the Valley Cave. From the entrance, head west and go down a ladder.

The path here is simple. Keep heading down and defeat all the trainers until you reach a path with a bridge above it.

Keep going and you’ll see a fork in the path.

Head upwards and defeat Pokémon Ranger Nicolas. Cross the bridge, and you’ll find another slimmer bridge that leads south.

Keep going down, then head west until you see a ladder. Climb up, and you’ll emerge on Route 6.

Step 3: Go Through Route 6

After emerging from Valley Cave, you’ll reach Route 6. Don’t forget to heal your Pokemon by talking to the Clefairy right outside the cave.

Go down the bridge and defeat the camper. After that, I take a little detour by heading to the east path and beating some trainers and picking up a few more items.

But the road to Blizzard City is on the west path. Just ignore the way to Auburn Waterway for now and take the west path.

Here, you’ll see a cutscene of Ivory talking about isolating Mt. Thunderclap. After that, keep heading west until you reach Route 7.

Step 4: Go Through Route 7 and Frost Mountain

Keep heading left and beat the two double battles. Then go up the rocky terrain and beat the hiker and Juggler.

Go up two bridges and you’ll reach Frost Mountain. If you want an Old Rod, you can head east, then south, to find a Fisherman’s house.

Now back to Frost Mountain. Upon entering, you’ll witness your rival being beaten by a Shadow member. Then he’ll proudly challenge you to a battle.

After beating him, go up and head west and beat Collector Cooper. Keep going left, and you’ll find another fork in the path.

Ignore the ledge, head north, and follow the path that hooks around until you reach a bridge. Defeat the hiker and climb the ladder to go to the second floor.

On the second floor, you’ll see a lot of distractions, including round boulders and ramps. But you can’t access these areas yet. So follow the path east until you find a hiker.

After beating him, head upwards until you see a set of stairs and a ladder. This leads to the exit of Frozen Mountain.

Step 5: Traverse Route 8

After that tiring journey, your Pokemon most likely sustained a lot of damage. But you can heal up if you beat the nurse just outside the cave.

Heal your Pokemon and head north. The route is straightforward here. Keep going and beat a youngster trainer and a girl with blonde hair. Then, you’ll find another fork.

Go east and look for a Black Belt with a mission. I always take this because he rewards you with 60 Carbos when you complete his simple jumping task.

Now, look for the path going south and follow it until you find a frozen pond. This puzzle should be pretty easy for you.

Keep heading north through a series of wooden bridges until you can go up to them. This will take you to Camper Evan.

Go up after beating him and this path will lead you west. Keep going left and you’ll find a large patch of grass and a path north. This marks your entrance to Blizzard City.

Now you know how to get to Blizzard City in Pokemon Unbound. The journey is endless, perilous, tiring, and cold. But with perseverance and a fiery heart filled with determination, you can make it.
